WAAG Dog of the Year is a year-long competition for WAAG members sponsored by Vet's All Natural. The 2004 competition will commence in February. The most consistent dogs over the year will be awarded the Dog of the Year Perpetual Trophy. The competition will consist of a one round challenge each month for 10 months to take place on our training nights and the results will be publicised on the WAAG Leaderboard.

The monthly challenges will revolve between the challenges of agility, jumping, and a game. Competitions will take place at two heights- dogs taller than 400mm (midi and maxi dogs) will be jumping 550mm and dogs less than (or equal to) 400mm (mini and toy dogs) will be jumping 250mm.

The best eight scores across the year will be used to calculate the overall winners. While the courses set will be quite complex to challenge the intermediate and open dogs, dogs who have not yet achieved their AAD titles will run under starters rules. The monthly courses will also be used as a training opportunity for beginners and less experienced handlers to learn about walking and planning courses.
